Do You Need a Ride-on Lawn Mower?

Once all you could get to keep the lawn down apart from a sheep or goat was a push-pull mower. Almost unbelievably, they are still available. But only those with a few feet of lawn would find them useful. Then the motorised lawn mower made its advent into the world and everyone who had a bigger lawn fell on them with cries of joy and relief.

But they are just as hard to use as the old push mower. After all, you still have to push them around, even though the engine pushes the blades around underneath. Soon the lawn mower was improved with the addition of a grass-catcher. That saved raking up all the lawn clippings, but it also made the lawn mower heavier to push when the catcher started to fill up.

So how about it; isnt it time to upgrade to a ride-on lawn mower? As the population ages, baby boomers realise that they can no longer push that lawn mower around for hours without feeling a few after-effects such as stiff arms and legs, or a bad back. But the ride-on mower takes all the hard work out of mowing. Just be sure that you dont get one with a steering wheel. Ah yes, you do need to steer the thing otherwise your garden will be history and you may end up in the dog-house.

But go for the ride-on mower with steering levers rather than the wheel, because they are so much easier to steer in and out of small places.

how do i replace a pushrod on a riding lawn mower engine?

i want to know how to replace a push-rod on a riding mower engine that's a v twin and where can i get a replacement and know which one i need. and how much (approx) will a push rod cost for v twin engine

Here is the easiest way to show you. Get the make and model number off the engine and go to outdoor distributors. com. Locate the engine model and it will show you an exploded view of the engine plus parts and part numbers. This will give you a good idea of how you have to go about replacing the push rod. With the part number you can also look up the part and the cost on the same site. It won't provide torque specs or valve adjustment numbers. That will have to come from the engine manufacture.
